London Metrolpolitan Police Warning Poster Remix

On Rogier van Bekel's blog I found this post about a poster commissioned and paid for by the London Metropolitan Police ... also a related post about a similar poster done by the design-impaired, but equally moronic Chicago Police Force.

This stuff upsets me so much ... but we don't need my take on this today. Rogier sums it up better than I ever could:

open_quote.pngIf terrorists do their dirty work by spreading, well, terror, what should we call public servants who promote fear and unhinged suspicions by telling the public to report note takers, binoculars users, camera enthusiasts, map owners, and motorists who time traffic lights?close_quote.png

Anyway ... this all inspired me to some midnight "photoshop rage." I was able to translate the London poster so that its true intentions are clearer ... be sure to read the texts of both versions. See if you can tell which is the original! Which is more paranoid?

Coming back to this ...

Ah, this just got boingboing'd (not this post, a photo of the same poster by Cory Doctorow) ... I now notice how upset and how tired I was when I did this. I think I finished it at about 2 a.m. in a frenzy of righteous anger ... Oh well. It is what it is and I yam what I yam!

great post, and great

great post, and great point.

fear politics nowadays is seriously obvious

Moron

No, it is you that is the idiot. Freedom and the loss of it is far more serious.

Fucking sheep.

Terrorism

Terrorism is serious. You are a total idiot!

Serious?

No, terrorism is TRIVIAL. You are more likely to kill yourself than be killed or injured in a terrorist attack!
